These films, made by enterprising men and women at the forefront of science and nature filmmaking, developed groundbreaking techniques of time-lapse, microscopic and underwater cinematography. Paving the way for the natural history programmes that we know and love today, these Secrets grant us an entertaining, absorbing, and very special glimpse into the mysteries of the natural world.

The DVD9 features 19 individual programmes as well as a fully illustrated booklet featuring newly commissioned essays by leading researchers and scholars with film notes, photographs and illustrations.

It was a beautiful project to work on and our Sarah and Anita were proud to be credited in the booklet for their hard work!  The DVDs are available for sale on the BFI website.

The disc features England’s world cup winning match against West Germany at Wembley featuring Sir Geoff Hurst’s hat trick and probably the most famous commentary in the world from Kenneth Wolstenholm.

The discs were distributed through Marks and Spencer, official tailor to the World cup team, earlier in the year.

The DVD charts an incredible season that saw the team winning the FA cup as well as the Premiership.  Highlights include the 8-0 success against Wigan that sealed their victory, the Victory parade through West London and the contenders for goal of the season and player of the year.

Off the pitch footage includes interviews with the players and some really funny outtakes and bloopers.

The DVD is presented in a glossy lancing pack featuring team captain John Terry.

It’s World Cup time! Celebrations, joy, chants, anguish and an ear-bleeding explosion of noise!

So, the World Cup… you probably think it’s all about the football? It’s not! We’ve created two stunning documentary DVDs for FIFA – these both explore FIFA’s intention that the World Cup in South Africa should leave a lasting legacy for the South African people, not just a pile of broken vuvuzelas, tattered flags and empty beer cans.

With commentary in four languages (French, Spanish, English and German), the documentaries show how FIFA have been involved in important, lasting projects that provide massive investment in infrastructure as well as investment in the social infrastructure, education, job creation and AIDS care & awareness.

No matter who wins and loses, South Africa will have gained a lot from this World Cup, and these DVDs show us how.

The exhibition shows how the great masters Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian and Botticelli used preparatory drawing to perfect ever more naturalistic forms and perspective.

We created and manufactured the DVD which features drawings from the collection as well as interviews from scholars and art historians that reveal how this art form evolved.

The exhibition opens on the 22^nd of April and runs until 25^th July.  Tickets are available from their web site.

The formula is changing for film distribution. Where at one time, nearly any successful project had to pass through the gatekeeping of festivals and distributors to get any kind of attention, there are a lot of documentary filmmakers finding other ways to go. The documentary “Beyond Biba” is an example of a film that effectively bypassed festivals, distributors and agents, and has done 50 theatrical screenings across the United Kingdom – something agents and distributors would have been hard-pressed to do. And rather than paying for the privilege of having their film screened at festivals at which the filmmakers realize no income, “Beyond Biba” has been bringing in revenue from Day One.

This kind of alternative model seems far more viable with documentaries than with fictional films, because of the principle that documentaries sell based on the topic, were fictional films generally sell based on the actors or director involved.

In the case of the one-hour “Beyond Biba,” the subject is Barbara Hulanicki, the Warsaw-born fashion designer who founded the Biba clothing store that became a fashion center in London in the 1960s. The film looks at her life and work.
