File based QC

We are proud of our reputation for quality. Some of our operators have been conducting tape-based QC for over 20 years for clients such as BBC Worldwide.

With increasing demand for digital files we are conducting file based QC and offer manual and automated QC for digital files. We have high capacity in both areas and run our QC services 24 hours a day.

There is no margin for error. We pride ourselves on our absolute adherence to the requirements of platforms and channels throughout the world, ensuring that the content we deliver looks and sounds perfect every time.

Automated QC takes place using Cerify content verification system. Cerify performs consistent and thorough checks of video files, checking all aspects of the files.

Technical checks typically include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Brightness & darkness levels
• Colour levels and their legality
• Strobing effects
• Caption legibility and their positioning
• Film, tape or encoding artefacts
• Audio levels
• Audio clicks, mutes, pops, hiss and distortion
• Suitable elements for international re-versioning
• Clock information
• Timecode
• For file based content the technical encoding parameters for both audio and video are fully checked against the broadcaster's spec
